Special Delegate Conference February

AT January's meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Garda Representative Association a Motion was passed to hold a Special Delegate Conference (SDC) tomorrow, February 11, 2026, in response to the consistent delays in progression of key matters of concern to our members, namely:

- Subsistence & Travel (Currently still operating at 2002 levels)
- CPI Non-Pay Allowances (We demand the honouring of agreements which would increase
these allowances in line with the Consumer Price Index/inflation)
- Pay Talks/Local Bargaining (We want representation at the upcoming negotiations as we have been excluded
to date)
- Conduct/Performance Regulations (Gardaí are now the only employees that can be
dismissed by their employer without fair and equitable appeals process; our protections
continue to be eroded)

The issues that were raised at our 2025 ADC last April related to the imposing of an unagreed suspension policy, the attempts to dilute our members' protections under the sickness policy and the continuing failure to access fair and reasonable subsistence and travel rates.

There, it was mandated that a resolution must be reached on all three issues prior to any engagement with the policing planning for this year's EU Presidency (July 1st) which will place even further demands on our members.

The issues listed above have led to the calling of this SDC to discuss and debate how this Government continues to attack our members' terms and conditions and continue to refuse to honour agreements on our members' pay. Further updates to follow immediately after this week's event.
